Over weight or obesity increases the risk of heart problems. Recent studies also show that excess weight can lead to early deaths. Today there are a variety of weight loss products available in the market. These products might not prove as effective as advertised and some might also have harmful effects. The weight loss process can be simple if you follow proper diet and consistent exercises. But remember different people have different body type. The diet plan and exercise that suits others, might not work out for you.

Exercises:
Diet and exercise go together. No point in only dieting or only exercising. This won’t help you in losing weight. Consistency is said to be the key to successful weight loss. You should be regular in your exercising and maintain a routine. Some people exercise during the week days only and some people exercise during the weekends only. This will not prove to be effective. Don’t start a long stretch of exercise from the beginning. First start with 10 minutes and gradually increase the time. Even a thirty minute cardiovascular exercise for five days a week is enough for a start. You can ask a friend to exercise with you, to push you when you slow down. Or you can join a team of friends which will make your exercise more lively and fun.

Frequent meals:
Increasing the frequency in your meals will speed the metabolism in your body. Metabolism will help to burn the excess fat and calories and thus help in weight loss. Instead of your normal eating of 2-3 meals a day, try to eat 4-5 meals a day. In this way your intake of calories will be less. Frequency in eating will make you eat less food, so less insulin is produced. If the insulin in the body increases, it will make you feel hungry frequently, making you eat more food which then increases your weight. Avoid food that contains sugar, starch and high carbohydrates as this can increase the insulin production in your body.

Eat at home:
Dining out makes you eat more food, as food is tasty, offered in large portions. These foods contain high calories. You will not be able to know how much food you intake. Of course you can dine out for a change, but share your plate with a friend or relative. This will help you eat less. At home even a bowl of fresh fruits is a healthy snack.

Eat slowly:
Eat small meals frequently and what ever you are eating, eat slowly. Eating slowly helps to not to overeat and thus less intake of calories.

A few other tips are: avoid alcohol; drink herbal tea; drinking a glass of water before meals can make your stomach feel full, reduce your intake of food; don’t eat late in the night; etc.

Weight loss cannot happen immediately. It can take days or months. Follow these tips with sincerity, which will help you lose weight and make you lead a happy and healthy life.
