A lot of different foods and drinks have had research done to see if they can aid in weight loss. One of those is coffee. A lot of people drink coffee and the idea of coffee aiding in weight loss excites a lot of people. But has research proven that coffee can aid in weight loss, or not?

Several studies and articles have been released saying that coffee aids in weight loss.
Coffee gives you energy and this in turn will allow you to have a tougher and longer workout.
Studies have shown that coffee may be a great way to suppress hunger.
Coffee is also supposed to cause the body to burn more calories.

In addition to their being studies and articles saying that coffee aids in weight loss, there are also several articles saying that coffee makes it harder to lose weight.
Coffee is supposed to cause fluctuations in your blood sugar. At first coffee suppresses hunger, but with the fluctuations of the blood sugar you eventually get food cravings, especially for sweets.
Social standards often have us eat with our coffee. Often this includes sugary treats such as pie, cobbler, cake, and donuts.
Coffee is also a diuretic causing you to go to the bathroom more. This process causes you to lose water, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and Vitamin B1.

The Truth.
Whether or not coffee is good for weight loss we just can’t be certain. Some things are certain.
Coffee does give you more energy which could help you tougher and longer in your workout, if you used it as such.
If coffee suppresses hunger then thats, good. If not, and you enjoy coffee, then that’s just fine.
The science behind coffee and burning more calories is complicated and it is hard to know for sure whether or not coffee burns more calories or not.
Most of us have a lot of cravings, including those for sugar. We have to fight those cravings no matter what causes them.
Social standards do have you drinking coffee with food, but if you like coffee you can change this.
Drinking water is important. So you should drink one cup of water for every cup of coffee.

Coffee is a low calorie drink, as long as you are careful about what you put in it. Chose your coffee additives carefully.
Add low fat and no fat milk and creamers.
Add a small amount of sugar if you are going to add it. Natural sugar is sweeter and will let you use less.
Avoid fancy coffees such as lattes and frozen coffees which are full of calories and fat.
If you add cappuccino mix or other ingredients do so in moderation and check the labels first.

Drink your coffee without feeling bad about it. However, you can’t get excited and think that you will lose a lot of weight drinking your coffee. Also, choose your coffee additives with care.
