| November 8, 2009 | 0 Comments

We often have excuses for being overweight. Many times identifying them and countering them is important. This is how you move past making excuses and onto meeting your weight loss goals.

Eating Healthy Is Too Expensive.
This is a really common issue. There are a few different things that need to be considered though. This is an easy one to have because it is often at least in part true. However, here are somethings to help out and keep in mind.
Skip eating out, it will never be less expensive then eating at home.
Skip pre-packaged meals. Yes, making it yourself is more work, but also a whole let less expensive.
Buy canned and frozen fruits and vegetables. It is true that they aren’t as healthy as their fresh counterparts, they are still healthier then skipping them.
Shop sales, in season fruits and vegetables, and look for coupons. Also hit up your farmers market in the summer time.
Finally think about portion sizes. You are more likely to eat more sugary foods, chips, and other “junk foods” then healthy alternatives. This makes it so that you spend more volume wise.

I Don’t Have Time To Exercise.
Time is tight for everyone, but if you look at how you spend your time you will find that somewhere in there is the time to exercise. You can squeeze it in there. If you watch TV, read a book, surf the net, or do any other types of recreational activities then you have time to exercise. Plus you will have more energy for other things if you do exercise.

Genetics: My Entire Family Is Fat.
Genetics do play some sort of part in how easy it is for you to be a bigger person. However, you have the power to fight that. The only thing you need to do is become determined. There are skinny people with fat parents and that can be you.

My Family Eats Unhealthy.
Most of us have families and it is true that they like junk foods as much as we do. Often this is an easy excuse that we have. “My kids wanted pizza” or “My husband took us to McDonalds”. This is normal, you aren’t alone. You actually have a few choices.
Have your whole family eat healthy. This is going to make a huge difference in their lives, after all, you are teaching them eating habits for the future. It is true that it will take work to get there, but you can do it.
Make unhealthy eating a rarity. You can still eat pizza, but limit it a lot. Don’t let your kids decide when, instead make it a treat.
Finally, come up with alternatives for you to have if your family is going to eat unhealthy regularly. This way you are prepared ahead of time.

It is important to combat the excuses that you have. It is important for your weight loss. It is how you will achieve your weight loss goals.
