Extra Activities for Weight Loss

| April 29, 2010 | 0 Comments

Sometimes no matter what you do may not be enough to lose weight. You may diet vigorously and you may even exercise diligently only to find out that you have lost just a handful of pounds. You will need to reverse this situation especially if you want to get a nice, slim body. This does not happen overnight and you will need to work for it. Thus, sometimes you will have to do some extra activities for weight loss in order for the scales to show your ideal weight.

Turn Sports into Hobby

Turning your favorite sports into hobby can be a good idea for you to lose weight. This way you can make sure that you will stay active, even while you are doing something interesting. For example, if you like to play golf, then you should spend one day a week playing golf. For example, if you like to play tennis, then you can play tennis or racquetball every week. It doesn’t matter which sport that you like as long as you do it regularly.

Walk as Much as You Can

This is perhaps one of the best things that you can do to stay active. This is important, since walking helps you to lose calories as well as to increase your metabolic speed. In fact, walking is one of the best activities that you can do every day to stay fit and trim. Most experts recommend for you to walk at least 2 miles for best effect.

Keep Active in your Daily Chores

Perhaps it is the time for you to keep active in your daily chores. This means that you have to keep active doing house cleaning, washing your car, mowing the lawn, cleaning the attic, changing the furniture around etc. You can be surprised at the amount of calories that you can burn this way.

Stay Away from Junk Food

If you look at the label of every food that you eat, you will be surprised at the amount of extra calories that you take every day. For example, eating a hamburger menu from your favorite fast food restaurant can mean that you can receive an extra 200 to 350 calories per day. Thus, staying away from fast food and junk food can go a long way to losing weight. Keep away from processed foods and try to eat organic foods as much as possible.

Get a Gym Subscription

If you are able to do some exercises every week at a gym, this can be very helpful to you. Use the Stairmaster or an elliptical machine to burn off that fat which has accumulated over the years. If you are unable to get a gym subscription, then you can just as easily get a jumping rope and do 100 reps of jumping every day. Or you can get a tennis racket and just practice as if you were hitting a tennis ball. You will be surprised at the results.
