The television show “The Biggest Loser” has lots of people excited. They want to know how the contestants lose so much weight so quickly. So, how does “The Biggest Loser” work?

These massive weight loss numbers happen from lifestyle changes. This includes huge diet changes and lots of exercise. These lifestyle changes come quickly because “The Biggest Loser” contestants are placed on “the ranch” and completely segregated from their lives, their families, and their normal habits.

Each and every day the contestants are put through rigorous exercise. This changes their shape dramatically. Over the course of the first few weeks you see these people lose lots of weight, some losing as much as 100 pounds.
The contestants are shown how to eat well by personal trainers. They don’t have a lot of other options. Plus they have lots of support for eating the right amount.
While the game is rather intense, they don’t have a lot of other concerns. Sometimes problems from home creep in, but for the most part they don’t worry about their families, their jobs, or money. They have it all under control for now.
Why It Doesn’t Work For You.
Many people wish they could find the same answer for themselves. The chances of getting on “The Biggest Loser” aren’t very good. Doing it at home is a little different.
You should only lose weight at a rank of about 1 to 2 pounds a week. Studies have shown that it is a lot easier to keep the weight off at this rate.
It’s a lot harder for you to make lifestyle changes. This doesn’t mean it can’t be done, but you have to realize it is easier for you to skip out, to avoid working out, or to grab a pizza.
You may exercise a lot, but chances are other things get in the way. Cooking, cleaning, kids, and jobs are all responsibilities that we have. While people are on “The Biggest Loser” they don’t have other responsibilities.
Good eating is a great part of lifestyle changes. However, it is a lot harder to always eat well on “the outside” then it is there at the ranch. Once again it comes back to grabbing a pizza or a donut.
Additionally, life gets in the way.
Even though you can’t make “The Biggest Loser” work for you, you can still follow their advice. You can take what they learn and apply it to your life. Just realize that it will be a little harder. You will be challenged and tempted. You will also have to lose weight slower. Don’t get discouraged. Even though the chances you will never be on “The Biggest Loser” doesn’t mean you can’t change your life.
