How to tackle lack of motivation in your weight loss program
In today’s world you see everywhere people telling stories about how they lost weight. There are numerous magazines, TV programs and websites targeted towards making you reduce weight, some focus on diets while other focus on exercise.
Are you one of those who have gone through numerous diets and exercise routines but nothing seems to work? You have gone through number of weight loss program which you leave in the middle. Well the thing which might be causing the problem is your lack of motivation.
Sure you say you are motivated to start a program as you know you have to reduce weight , but what you forget, is that you need to work on your motivation just like you work for your weight loss as without motivation you are very likely to abandon your quest for weight reduction.
Why motivation?
The reason why weight reduction involves continuous motivation is that you are constantly bombarded with temptation and desires in your daily life. You have to make a decision of sticking to your diet and exercise plan almost several times a day. You face a motivation challenge when:

- Keep your cupboard free of junk food; make sure there is plenty of healthy option for munching when you feel hungry in between meals.
- Know your hunger; if it is just an emotional desire to eat be sure to distract yourself by doing something else you like.
- Follow a plan that you know you would be able to follow, you are better judge of your limit and know how far you can stretch yourself. Do not commit to something which you know you will not be able to do.
- It is most common that after sometime of dieting you hit plateau and your motivation to follow the plan vanishes. Keep the motivation up by varying the diet and exercise you will not hit plateau.
- Keep positivity around you, if you feel like quitting call a friend or a family member, seek support. Keep your head clear of negativity.
- Read lots of inspirational stories and quotes of people who have lost major weight and remind yourself, “if they can do it so can I”.
- If exercise seems like a burden to you, try to find work out which is fun, include activities which you can do together with a friend or a family member.
Remember it is difficult struggle in beginning but pretty soon you will be making right choices in food and having an active lifestyle.
