Hunger Is the Bane of Weight Loss Programs

Most weight-loss programs fail due to ineffectiveness of the dieter to overcome the hunger monster.

While on weight loss program, it is normal to feel uncontrollable hunger. Withstanding the hunger feeling is vital in the success of the program. Mental preparation and staying alert are ways to conquer hunger. Just bear in mind – no gain without pain.

How to tame the monster?

Hunger brings in untimely eating pattern. This doesn’t go down well with the weight loss program. To avoid this, train yourself to feel full with no appetite left to eat.

Humans have not unraveled the mysterious working of the brain in controlling the appetite. Trial and error method is followed in this regard. One of the popular theories regarding appetite is that it is the outcome of the production of a variety of compounds.

By stopping or slowing down the production of the appetite causing compounds, the monster can be tamed. Hydroxycitric acid, Citrin, and kidney bean extract are few things capable of this.

How do they work?

Citrin: Citrin is a plant extract taken from the peel of Garcinia cambogia fruits grown in southern India. Citrin is an antioxidant, found to have health benefits and appetite suppressing properties. The active component of citrin is hydroxycitric acid.

Hydroxycitric acid: The presence of hydroxycitric acid at cellular level prevents processing of fatty acids. This ensures less fat conversion and storage in the cells of our body. This leads to less fat deposit build-ups in fat tissues and liver. Another positive result is the presence of excess energy in the cells, which is used for decomposition of free fatty acids.

The carbohydrates in the food consumed are broken down as glucose, which enters the blood. This glucose is used to meet the energy requirements of our body. When there is too much glucose, this gets converted into fat or cholesterol.

Hydoxycitric acid prevents this by changing the excess glucose into glycogen in the liver. When the levels of glucose and glycogen crosses a benchmark, appetite-suppressing signals are sent to brain.

The appetite suppressing property of hydroxycitric acid is helpful in reducing the food intake and also in controlling excess hunger.

Kidney bean extract: The carbohydrates consumed are broken down as glucose by the enzymes present in the digestive juices. The kidney bean extract prevents this bodily action. The carbs will no longer get converted into glucose.

The carbs will remain in the body as such in the form of long fibers. Eventually, they are burnt off, that too at a much faster rate. When the carbs are used to produce energy, the body will be forced to use the fat present for energy production. Thus, the body burns fat, which results in weight loss.

Hunger suppressants offer health benefits like steadying blood sugar levels. It is also good to control excessive cravings and binge eating, which has serious health repercussions. Its benefits in the weight loss program are undisputed.
