The body of one person differs from another, so a diet plan that suits your neighbor or friend might not be suitable for you. You should select a diet plan that suits your body and with which you are comfortable. Your plan should not be such that you rapidly lose weight in two weeks and then stop. This will make you regain all the weight you have lost. Choose a plan which you can continue throughout, by making changes in your lifestyle, and which will make you lose weight and remain healthy.
Make small changes in your eating habits. At certain times of the day, when you want to nibble something, don’t stretch your hand towards a bar of candy, or a packet of chips. These types of food increase the fat and sugar contents in your body. Why don’t you try to substitute this type of food with healthier food? Have a cup of yoghurt or an apple. Yoghurt is low in calories and apple contains fibers. This makes your body healthier.
Whatever changes you make in your lifestyle, make sure that it is permanent. Replace your bad habits with some good habits, and you will see results. Be disciplined and committed in what you do.
Fast food:
There is no doubt that food from Macdonald’s and Pizza Huts are very tempting and delicious. But I’m sorry to say that they are high in fat content and calories. So if you really intend to lose weight, avoid going to these fast food joints. Having a small treat once in a while is harmless, but when you go there, share the food on your plate with a friend, so that you eat less. Stop having lunch from a fast food outlet, and carry home made food to the office. Home made food can be cooked according to your diet plan.
Drink water:
Drink plenty of water. Water prevents dehydration. If your body is dehydrated it will burn fewer calories. Avoid alcohol and soda. They contain lot of calories. Also avoid fruit juices, because they will increase the sugar level in your body. This sugar is converted into fat and stored in your body. Herbal Tea is also good. Drink minimum eight glasses of water per day.
Snacks:
At certain time of the day, when you want to have a snack, avoid sugary and oily snacks. Instead fill your snack box with low calorie snacks.
Dinner:
When you are cooking dinner, cook only the required amount, and avoid having left-over foods. Or keep the left over away. Because if you sit in front of the dinning table with extra food in front of you, you will eat what is required and sometimes have the tendency to eat some more.
Exercise:
Inculcate physical activity into your daily routine. If your office is close by, or you are going to the store nearby, take a walk, avoid driving. Instead of spending time in front of the TV, go out door and play football with your children, or go dancing and climb up the stairs, instead of taking the elevator. These few changes will help you in your weight losing goal.
