You know you want to lose weight but getting motivated to do it actually is a difficult part. Most of us go through this struggle within us, where we find it difficult to restrain our self from temptations. We know that weight loss will be something which will be good for not only our health but our self esteem, however knowing something and acting on it are entirely two different things.
Motivation comes from within; nobody can do anything for you until you are motivated to do it for yourself. Yes someone can inspire you, which can result in motivation but it is you who has to take the step towards a healthy body. It happens a lot that when you decide that will lose weight, you start a program and within a day or to you are off track from it as you find it hard to follow. The reason: your motivation to follow the plan was not strong enough.
One way to stay motivated is to remind ourselves of our goal, each day and every time we think we are losing it. A great way to do that is through visually stimulating our mind. It will help in reminding our self what we are working on and why.
Visual stimulants to boost your motivation:
You can use various, it is best you keep them where you feel you are weakest and more likely to break your diet, for instance in the kitchen. You can use the following as visual stimulants:
- Picture of yourself:
Keep a picture of you in which you look fat, past it near the handle of the fridge with words “I can do it, I deserve much more and I will achieve a health leaner body.”
- Picture of a real people who have lost weight:
There lots of inspirational stories about real people who have lost weight which can be inspiration to anybody. You can search about them on the net, find the one which inspire you the most and print their picture and paste it in front of your mirror write down “If they can do it ,so can I !”. There is no point in putting celebrity pictures as they have a whole staff to make them leaner and they use other methods like plastic surgery. It is better to have a healthier and real motivator as your visual stimulator.
- Picture of human fat:
Keep a picture of human fat in your wallet, it is pretty disgusting to see and you will feel dejected after seeing that but it will help you in reminding that you will be pilling on that, next time you take out money to order any junk food.
Remember you have all the things necessary to achieve your goal; all you need is a motivation to keep yourself on the track. If you tackle temptations and deviation cleverly there is no way that you will fail in your weight loss program.
