To understand the need of motivation in your weight loss program you first need to understand what motivation is and why it is such an important component in your weight loss program?
Motivation is a drive that comes from within you and it pushes you toward achieving your goals. Motivation is the fundamental component to any of our action as without it the desire to be consistent in achieving our goal is gone and we end up abandoning our objective.
The reason why motivation is so important in weight loss is because we continually have to make decision regarding our choices. There are temptation and desire everywhere especially since we have made our body accustomed to poor food habits and lethargic life style.

When following a weight loss routine we are often confronted by temptation and desires, these challenge our commitment towards our goal of weight loss. The thing that keeps us committed to our goal is motivation, with this we are able to shun our desires and make right choices. While going through these conflicts one might experience stress. This stress if not address properly might lead to mood swings, depression and anxiety which will eventually result in breaking of the routine and falling off from your diet and exercise plans.
This is where the role of meditation comes in. Meditation aims at calming down the body and mind. It helps reduce stress and anxiety. While calming you down it aims at providing peace to your mind by concentrating on positivity and rejecting negativism.

The method for meditation
It is very simple and any one can perform it after simple practice. You need to sit in a quiet place where you can be alone and not be disturbed. Relax yourself by thinking about something which make you happy, when you feel relaxed focus your thoughts on the benefits of meditation for instance how it will help you clear your mind and reduce stress. After feeling relaxed and charged with thoughts of meditation helping you turn your focus on your goal, keep on repeating to yourself that you are doing well in your weight loss and need to continue. This will help building renewed commitment towards your goal with a positive approach.
Meditation should be done once a day for at least 10 -20 minutes.
