Less effective daily routines or too little workout:
Even knowing that exercises are very important for weight loss, people do less exercise or overlook them. In order to burn fat and increase slow metabolism exercises are must. You require being active in most of waking hours or during practicing exercises. If you are overweight and face struggle to practice exercise then include more recreational activities of low level in your daily routine.

If you are fed up from regular gym routine then adapt some new style of exercises in schedule. Go for long walk, do swimming, ice skating, dancing salsa, rock climbing, jogging and other cardio exercises to reduce fat with entertainment.

Reduced rate of Metabolism:
Low calories diet seems to work properly but become ineffective soon. The reason behind above fact is low calories diet reduce the rate of metabolism and thus, your body become adaptable to limited intake of calories. Reduced rate of metabolism also affect other process of your body including digestive processes, nutrients absorption processes etc.

If metabolism becomes slow it would make you lazy because then it would be able to produce required energy for your body. Therefore, there is no fat burn and no weight loss.

Eating much salt and sugar:
Several processed food contain excess salt and sugar. If you take much sugar in one meal then the level of sugar in blood rise high. Excess salt and sugar create fat depositions within the body. Thus, avoid processed food.

In addition, many other reasons are also in light that reduce weight loss like skipping meal often, decrease metabolic rate, etc. Less intake of water is also one of the reasons. Other than above reasons incorrect diet, unrealistic goals, workout without proper guidance, busy lifestyle, eating out, etc are also some more reasons of not losing weight.
