Select a good plan:
Remember that all plans don’t suit everybody. The plan that suits your friend or neighbor might not suit you. You have to select a plan that suits your body.

Set goals:
Setting a goal is the most important thing, when you start a weight loss program. Only if you have a goal, you will be determined to reach it. Better still write down your goal, so that you will not have a tendency to stray away from it. You have more chance of success when you write down your goal, than keeping it in mind. Check your weight and take measurements every week to see if you have achieved what you have desired, if not make changes in your diet. Keeping a food journal and noting down everything you eat, will be very helping in reaching your goal. Setting a goal will be a strong foundation for you to make healthy decisions.

Limit your portions:
Don’t over eat. “Eat in moderation” – this is what every dieter should follow. A handful of meal is what you require to eat. Reduce your portion of food. What is more important is eat food which is nutritious. Include fruits and vegetables in your diet. A plate of vegetable salad is not only a healthy meal, but also nutritious.

Frequency in eating:
Most dieters fail in their diet programs and the main reason for this is that, they feel hungry often. Some people are finding it difficult to control hunger and the end result is that they quit the plan. What you should do is, instead of having three macro meals a day, have 5-6 micro meals a day. Thus will stop you from feeling hungry often, and will prevent hunger. In fact developing a habit of eating frequent meals is a great way to lose weight because, your metabolism increases when there is more digestion.

Drink plenty of water:
Drinking plenty of water not only prevents dehydration and removes body toxins but also it is a great way to fill your stomach. Drinking a glass of water before your meals helps you to eat less. Water also prevents your body from being fatigue when you diet.

Don’t just blindly select a plan. Remember weight loss does not happen overnight. It will take time and requires a lot of patience. Consult you doctor before you start your dieting. What you need to do is to change your lifestyle and eating habits, follow the tips given above, and you will surely reach your goal.
