1)Ingredients ending with ‘ose’: Manufacturers use various forms of sugar to fool the consumers into thinking that the food item is healthy and does not contain sugar. Most of the sugar derivatives have names ending with ‘ose’ like glucose, fructose, maltose and dextrose. Watch out for different forms of sugar in the ingredients.
2)Be wary of health drinks and energy drinks: Most of these are loaded with sugar to supply instant energy. This definitely makes the consumer feel energetic and make them think that the drink is good and beneficial, as the label proclaims. However, these drinks are harmful to long-term health of the consumer. Read food labels to verify the ingredients. Avoid them even if it says that the sugar included is ‘natural’.
3)Be careful with fruit juices: Most of us have fruit juices for breakfast. Whether ready-made or fresh, the sugar content is too high in fruit juices for weight loss. Having high sugar fruit juices spikes the blood sugar level quickly and results in the secretion of fat-storing hormones. Both are highly damaging for the weight loss program.
