The Diet That Is Not Really a Diet
So many people are misled by the word ‘dieting’ and don’t understand the true concept of it. They assume that dieting is starving. People gather information from various sources and follow these instructions in the wrong way. Consuming fewer calories does not mean consuming very less food. Starving most of the times naturally increases your hunger. Then what happens? The answer is very simple! You stop dieting.
One thing you should understand is that dieting does not mean starving. You can eat food, but in a moderate amount. As you know too much of anything is bad. Only thing is to include healthy foods in your diet. Avoid sweets and fatty foods. Don’t starve, eat sensibly. You have to make some changes in your eating habits.
There are various types of diets. Let’s see some of them.
High protein diet:
The High Protein Diet is a diet in which you can eat as much meat as you want, but only cooked dry beans as vegetables. This is a three weeks diet. Very soon you get fed up of meat and you also lose weight in three weeks. After this you have to go on a low calorie diet which has not been very successful.
Rotation diet:
Rotation Diet was popular for sometime. This diet is eating limited food the first week, eating more the second week, and starving the third week. This procedure is rotated. To follow this diet you need a lot of will power, because not everyone can starve for a week.
Low carb diet:
Then there is the low carbohydrates diet. Here you can eat any food that does not contain carbohydrates. This food restricts fruits and certain vegetables. Many people did not find this diet as appetizing. Fruits and vegetables contain nutrition’s needed for the body, and restricting it has caused serious ailments in some people following this diet.
The Atkins Diet is a low carbohydrate diet. Dr Atkins, the promoter of this diet, made some changes and added some carbohydrates into the diet. You can have sausages and eggs or steaks and eggs for breakfast. Avoid sugar and starchy foods.
You can have meat or chicken for lunch and dinner, but use corn oil or olive oil. Both are low in fat and calories.
You have to be strict about your diet. Excess fat will be stored in your body. You have to increase your carbohydrates every week by 5 grams. After few weeks you can add some fruits like blackberries, watermelon and strawberries in your diet. Check your weight and reduce carbohydrates if you don’t lose weight. Regulate your weight so that you lose 1 pound a week.
Drink water avoid beer:
It is not necessary to drink 8 glasses of water. About 3-4 glasses will do. Avoid beer, it contains carbohydrates. Drinking milk also helps in weight loss. A glass of milk with low carbohydrate diet has proved to be very effective in reducing weight for many people.
Whatever diet you are on, if you need to lose weight, you have to do some exercises. The excess fat in your body has to be burnt and this can happen only if you exercise.
