Dieting is not a joke. When you go on a diet, it should be done seriously and sincerely, without any mistakes. Simple diet mistakes can reduce your effort in fat loss. There are 5 common mistakes which should be avoided if you really would like to accelerate your weight loss.

Skipping Breakfast:

Dieting does not mean fasting. Your body metabolism has to function properly to burn your excess fat. Do you know that if you skip breakfast, your body metabolism works very slowly? So that when you have food later, the slow functioning of metabolism does not burn the fat, but instead stores them in the body’s cells. This increases weight than reducing it. So don’t skip breakfast, but have some oats or some high fiber food.

Eating too much non-fat food:

People have a wrong notion that since non-fat food does not increase weight, it can be consumed in large quantities. But too much of these foods can increase the calorie intake and thereby increase the weight. Don’t be confused by the term non-fat food and live on it. Eating fruits and vegetables are much healthier. These foods do contain calories so remember ‘too much is too bad’.

Alcohol:

Drinking alcohol when you are on a diet is the first mistake that most people make. Alcohol does not help you to lose fat, but it contains sugar and calories which make you to gain fat. The sugar increases your sugar level, which in turn makes you hungry. Sugar also is stored in your body as fat. A shot of liquor or beer contains around 100 calories. So drink herbal tea instead of liquor or if needed drink wine which is healthier.

Fast food:

Stepping into fast food restaurants is a mistake when you are on diet. The food in these restaurants is full of calories and is of large quantities. They are so tasty, that once you start eating, you will have no control and you won’t know how much you have consumed. So if you go in to a fast food restaurant, share your food with a friend or relative. This will help you to intake less fat and calorie.

Be realistic:

Take proper care of your health, if you want to lead a healthy life. If you have a weight problem, be realistic. Don’t ignore it, but find ways to reduce weight. Excess weight can lead to heart problems, cholesterol and diabetes. Patience and sincerity are the two most important attitudes when you go in for a weight loss diet. Remember “health is wealth”. So take measures to reduce weight as ignoring your health is a big mistake.

You should know what to eat and how much to eat if you are following a proper diet plan. But diet alone will not help in weight loss. A routine and consistent exercise should also be followed. Because diet and exercise go hand in hand. You should have a commitment and sincerity in whatever plans you make, only then you will see positive results.
