Tea drinking tradition does back around 5000 years, only recent years the world is coming to terms with the benefits it has to offer. Tea is made by steeping processed leaves, buds or twigs in water. There are many types of tea like green, black, ooling and white tea. They all have different color, taste, fermentation and processing.
All these four types of tea come from the same plant — Camilla Sinensis. Green tea is the most researched and boasts many benefits. It ranges from reducing the risk of cancer, lowering risk of heart diseases, mind relaxation, memory boosting, anti oxidant, anti aging, boosting metabolism to boosting immune system and much more although there is still research going on to prove most of those claims.

Green tea is full of polyphenols; these incredible polyphenols are more commonly known as catechins. It interacts with human biology to keep us healthy and is anti aging and anti oxidant. Green tea also contains Flavonoids which are plant pigments and helps in protecting against infection. It also has Theanine which is an amino acid that produces tranquilizing effects in the brain.

This can lead to stress or depression, in this state the mind produce stress hormone known as glucocorticoids, they cause mood swings. It is believed that green tea contains anti-oxidants which may have a protective effect against cancer but it still requires research.

There is still research going on to understand fully its benefits but for centuries in Asia, green tea with lemon has been used to relax after a meal to help digest and clear the mind.
There are green tea oils available, which can be used as message oil. You can also buy candles of green tea for relaxation but the best method to use green tea for relaxing is sipping hot tea.
