Lose Weight In Time For The Holidays
Most of us look forward to the holidays. This is the time when families, friends and relatives gather together to celebrate, have fund and just enjoy the season. And because it is festive, there will always be food and parties for the holidays.
You might find yourself wanting to lose weight just before the holidays because you want to look stunning for your family reunion. Or you might want to fit into that cute little dress that you want to wear for your office Christmas party. Or you might just want to lose weight, so you can gain it back all over again during the whole holiday season. But regardless of your reason, here are some tips to help you lose weight just in time for the holidays.
Start Early
If you want to be fit and lean for the holidays, then start early. Trying to drop a couple of pant size within two weeks is impossible. So why not start your I’ll-Look-Lean-For-The-Holidays regimen right after the last holiday party – say, January 1.
This may sound completely weird, but it can be done! Starting early means you’ll have more time to shed those pounds off. And while you’re at it, why not make weight loss and effort throughout the whole year then? This way, weight loss will be a part of your whole lifestyle and health, and not just something for the holidays.
Get Active Right Away
If you’re well past January, and are a few months or weeks away from the holidays – then get active right away. The key is to get exercise as much as possible, without pushing your body to the limits. Head to then gym, take yoga classes, walk to work (or across the whole parking lot), walk your dog, play tag with the kids. By keeping yourself active, you burn the calories that you take in. And speaking of calories, this leads us to..
Watch What You Eat
Pay attention to what you eat. Eat more healthy foods, and stay away from fattening ones like carbs and fats. Do remember that you still need them in moderate amounts in order for you to keep your diet healthy, but make sure to keep them in moderation.
Try to eat smaller meals, more than three times a day. Smaller meals enhance your metabolism, and keep you from getting hungry and feeling deprived of food. Eating smaller but more frequent meal also keep your energy level running high – which is exactly what you need for exercise.
While you may be tempted to try quick fads and diets and products – don’t. These fad diets and products may promise quick results, but most of them do not work. Get some activity as much as possible and eat as healthily as you can. These are the best ways to lose weight naturally and safely, and will keep you healthy, too.
If you can’t lose weight in time for the holidays, don’t fret. Maybe you just need to get a new dress, or make up for it with a flattering hair cut. Who cares if you haven’t met your desired weight, as long as you’re healthy and feeling energized and fit?
But don’t forget to continue what you’ve started. Who knows, you might get that perfect body for next year’s holidays.
