Perhaps the greatest fear on dieters is when they hear the word Italian restaurants. Most people associate Italian restaurants as high carbohydrate high calorie type of foods. Most of us think that when we at to Italian restaurants it means death on our diets, those pizza and pasta makes us fatter and fatter as we know. But what we don’t know is that there are many more Italian dishes available for us that are healthy and appropriate for our diets.
Sure that pasta and pizza contains high amount of carbohydrates plus the ingredients and sauces that makes them oh so yummy but very fatty. They are food savors, and that is true! They posses this oh so mouth watering creamy taste that we opt for more. But what if we dine over Italian restaurants? Are we going to skip it and miss the classic operatic taste just because we don’t have anything to eat? Are we going to miss that fresh and garden ambience that Italian restaurants offer just because we can’t eat anything on them?

DO’S
1.Skip over pasta and pizza, they are great foods but they are loaded with secret ingredients that makes them high on carbohydrates and calories.
2.Pick dishes that have fresh options on it. Italian menus are always packed with fresh ingredients. A fresh food doesn’t have to be packed with lots of flavors and spices because they are good old tasty on their own fresh way.
3.Take the olive oil. Most Italian restaurants have olive oils on almost all of their menus. This is a great way for you to enjoy olive oils; they are healthy and full of anti oxidants not to mention they are also packed with flavors.
4.Eat slowly and don’t rush foods. Italian foods are not meant to be eaten on rush. You can eat and take out sometime; talking with your friends and hearing their stories would be a great diversion activity besides eating.
DON’TS
1.Avoid foods that are high on carbohydrates like pasta, bread, risotto, polenta, bruschetta or crostini. Instead of eating pastas, soups are great substitutes for them. In fact Italian soups are just as great as their pastas.
2.Meatballs are great no no’s. Italian meatball contains bread crumbs over them, so it is not wise to pick them best because they contain high amounts of carbohydrates.
3.Always look for fried dishes, and should you find one please avoid them. Most Italian fried foods are coated with bread crumbs or battered dips on it, so it is not wise to include them over your menu.
Losing weight effectively doesn’t necessarily mean cutting out wonderful dishes available for you, you just need to have proper information’s over them and you may continue succeeding over your goals.
