To do interval training it is easiest to do it with a friend. That way you can be timed and forced to work that specific amount of time. You can do it on your own easily with a machine which counts out how long you have been on it. It is a little harder while outside, but you can still do it. Either count to get an estimate of how long your intervals are or simply do the hard part as long as you possibly can and then slow down.

Interval Training Works On Many Exercises.
Often when one talks about interval training they talk about walking or running. Often it is done on a treadmill. None the less it can be done with a wide range of activities. You can use interval training for stair steppers, elliptical trainers, stationary bikes, aerobic exercises, water exercise, and even jumping rope. It is true that you can do it with other exercises, but these are your common ones.
