When you lose motivation, you lose the will to pursue your goal. Motivational is a vital component which drives you towards your goal. In weight loss you face many challenges and obstacles; motivation is the formidable drive which helps you overcome all the obstacles and challenges.
To stay motivated you must have the following:

  • Positivity: This is the very core of possibility. If you have a positive approach about yourself, you will be less stressed. Positivity invokes belief about your abilities to achieve goals. Instead of having doubts about yourself, positive approach lets you think that no you can do it, slowly and surely you will achieve my target weight. This pushes you and motivates you, not to give up and keep on your weight loss plan.
  • Support: support is vital whenever you feel like you are about to give up. Friends and family member can provide much needed emotional support when you are down. Also you can have a buddy system in losing weight. In buddy system you can work out or diet together with your friend or family member.
  • Rewards: rewarding yourself, this goes a long way in boosting your motivation in weight loss. The best technique of rewarding in weight loss is making realistic and small goals like week’s weight loss target. The reward should be awarded on short terms goals as they are itself motivators.
  • Reality: This is very important for motivation; it can make or break your plan for achieving in your goals. Here reality means making a true assessment of one’s capability and then setting goals which are achievable. If you keep a weight loss goal which in not achievable, what motivation you will have? In setting goals make sure they are really attainable. Motivation requires constant effort, one has to be realistic and not to set goal which is itself a de motivator.
  • Flexibility: you have to plan for contingencies, follow a diet plan which is not strict and allow you flexibility. Realize you are human, so what you had a bite of a cake do not chuck out the whole weight loss program by saying “no, I ruined my diet now I cannot do it anymore”. It should have the flexibility and offer you a chance to bounce back by saying “I will stick to my diet, next time I will get the urge to eat something sweet I will keep fruits nearby and munch on them.”
When you will incorporate all these factors for motivation in your plan, you will have a combination of Diet plan + Exercise + Motivation; by this you are bound to lose weight.
