Diet fads are gaining popularity… but are they healthy?

Upon searching to the internet you can see many different things about diet fads. You can see many companies or groups that offers very little time for you to lose weight. They can even show you some photos of before and after that are not digitally enhance. Most of the time you can see reviews that they are true and really effective.

For us all people, we always wanted a very quick way to everything. To our job we always find quick ways to finish a task even though it takes a lot of courage to do it. To our home we find ways to set all things quick and easy. Even to the food that we eat we wanted it fast and done within minutes.

It doesn’t conform and it is not general that making things quick are totally bad. But it is another topic when we talk about health. Our main concern on losing weight is to lose safe and effective, not fast and effective. We have to remember that we cannot remove the word safe when we talked about losing weight.

What are the cons of diet fads?

1.You are losing wrong type of weight – with diet fads you are really losing weight and that is not magic. But the weight that you are losing in comes from water and muscle mass not with fat. Due to wrong weight loss process you are not losing fats which is your main objective, rather you are losing somewhat important things to your body.
2.You are slowing down your metabolism – you are teaching yourself to slow down burning foods. Because you are starving your body declare this as calories deprived situation, therefore the body would compensate. As the body compensate it would slow down the burning process of calories to conserve energy to be burned.
3.You are subjecting yourself into a yo-yo diet – this means that you are on a weight loss weight gain scenario. This reflects that you are losing weight but gaining double weight after sometime due to wrong metabolic process in your body and that result from quick weight loss.
4.It is not intended for long term weight loss program – if you are thinking that this would be good on long term dieting then you are wrong. You are just subjecting yourself into a more serious and hard to face problem on weight loss.

What are the effects of diet fads?

The effects of diet fads on our body is obviously not good. It turns out to be a simple solution that is fast but then behind it is a monster picture of deeper weight loss problem. If you are really interested on losing weight effectively, devote sometime and take time to study things. There is no short cut or magic solutions if you are looking for one. It takes a lot of discipline and hard work to earn that dream body that you want. Eventually it is priceless!
