Focus on the Healthy Stuff
Dieting is not so easy. But you can make it easy and enjoy it too, if you follow it patiently with determination and discipline. There are so many diet plans. All diet plans don’t suit everybody. Some people are successful, while others are not. Dieting is not restricting food, it is selecting what food you eat for your weight loss goal that is important. Some people don’t know what to eat and so do not succeed in losing weight. I have heard of people complaining that in spite of dieting for so many years, they still haven’t lost weight and have become fatter.
Include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet:
Today popular diets are low carb, high protein diet. Such diets do not give you the sufficient nutrients required for your body, but increase the fat contents in your body, increasing the risks of various diseases. Your diet should contain nutrients and fiber which are available in plenty in fruits and vegetables.
Today with the popularity of fast foods and fat foods, people have begun consuming less fruits and vegetables. It is hard to ignore the health benefits of fruits and vegetables. There is no argument to the fact that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables reduces the risk of heart diseases, cancer, blood pressure, stroke, and protects against vision problem and digestion problem. A minimum of five servings of fruits and vegetables are recommended every day.
Tomato is a healthy vegetable:
One vegetable that can really do you well is the tomato. This vegetable is liked by a lot of people. During summer, tomatoes replace the salt content and water lost by sweating. Tomatoes also help in purifying your blood. You can make a variety of dishes with tomato and include it in your daily diet.
There was a friend of mine who said that she had a chosen diet plan, and had followed it for so many years, without any success of weight loss. I suggested a fruit and vegetable diet. After nine months, she calls me to say that she had lost a lot of weight, because she focused on vegetables and fruits, mainly tomatoes. Tomatoes reduce cholesterol and keep heart diseases away.
Have fruits or vegetable salads:
But this not means that you should eat only tomatoes. I was just trying to tell you how healthy tomatoes are. You can select a few fruits and vegetables (not potatoes) which are your favorites and consume them daily. Avoid cheese, butter and fatty snacks. Instead boil some vegetables, mix it with some brown rice and eat. It is healthy and filling. Or make fruit salad with some fruits you like and keep it in the fridge. You can have this when you feel hungry. It is refreshing and any time better than a bar of candy or a packet of chips.
A glass of lemon juice every day cools you down and is also healthy. You can make a salad with some vegetables, squeeze lemon over it and have. You can make a variety of dishes using tomatoes. Tomato sandwich is a healthy breakfast. You can also add garlic to flavor your food. Garlic is rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals.
But whatever you eat, exercising is important. 30 minutes of walking every day, will keep you healthy and help you lose weight.
