  • Asian broccoli stir fry

    Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch fresh broccoli, stem peeled and cut into serving sizes
  • Olive oil or peanut oil to drizzle
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger, fresh
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sweetener, of your choice
  • 3 tablespoons toasted almonds
  • How to cook:

  • 1.Steam the broccoli lightly in small amount of water for 3 minutes; be careful not to overcook the broccoli.
  • 2.Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, sherry and the artificial sweetener.
  • 3.Heat the oil in the wok or a large skillet
  • 4.Making sure that the skillet or wok is totally in high heat stir fry the broccolis in the hot oil for about one to two minutes or until it is tender. Do not over do this because you already half cooked the broccoli by steaming it.
  • 5.Push the stir fried broccolis to the edge of the pan making some cooking room for other ingredients.
  • 6.Put in ginger, garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds or until golden brown. Add more oil only if necessary and don’t burn the garlic or else it would taste bitter.
  • 7.Toss everything on the sauce pan all together mixing it very well.
  • 8.Top the cooked broccolis with toasted almonds.
  • These two great dieting recipes are absolutely tasty when combined with each other. The five star chicken is best served with stir fried broccolis as its side dish.
