Tips To Losing Baby Weight
It’s easy to gain a lot of weight during pregnancy and it’s expected. You eat, your baby grows, and when it is all said and done you are left with the excess. It’s that simple. However, as easy as it is to put it on it isn’t easy to take it off. With the right tips you can do it though.
Breastfeeding.
While it isn’t a good idea to decide to breastfeed because it can help you out, the truth of the matter is that it can help you out. It takes more calories to make milk then it does to wash a bottle and prepare formula. This is a natural weight to start losing the baby weight.
Eat Healthy.
It is fairly common knowledge that eating healthy is important for weight loss. The hard part here though is that you may have let good eating habits go by the wayside during your pregnancy. Many women give into their cravings while pregnant because they will be gaining weight anyway. Now you have to get back into positive eating again.
Exercise.
Yep, it’s back to the basics. Weight loss requires exercise. Now you are a new mom and time seems to be very tight. Figuring out when to exercise can be a little harder. Here are some great tips.
Exercise with your baby. There are loads of exercises you can do using your baby as your form of resistance. This is fun for them, good for you, and you are spending time with them to boot. Just make sure they haven’t eaten recently.
Go for a walk. Either carry the baby in a baby carrier or in the stroller. Either way they will give you more resistance. Plus getting out is good for them as well as for you.
Get exercise in during nap time. It is true that there is a huge part of you that longs to nap when your baby does, if you exercise instead then you will have more energy.
Join In With Other Moms.
There is no doubt about it. You are not alone. You can join in with other moms who have recently had a baby. They will be supportive, understand where you are coming from, help you out, and be fun to exercise with. Plus your kids can play together.
Give It Time.
It probably feels like you put all that weight on in no time. But taking it off may feel achingly slow. Don’t worry; give it time. Most experts say that while you put the baby weight on in 9 months or so you should give at least 18 months to 2 years to take it off. If it is your second baby, then be prepared to give it a little bit longer.
Getting baby weight off isn’t impossible, but it isn’t easy either. Have fun with it, enjoy getting back in shape, and keep it light. Don’t let it become to serious or it will only be harder to fight with your negative thinking.
