You keep doing the same regimen, still working out five times a week, doing your cardio exercise regularly but the your weight just won’t come off. This is something called a weight loss plateau, and if you’re stuck there, don’t worry just yet.
Weight loss plateaus regularly happen to people, but most of us don’t know it. This happens commonly after a couple of months of exercise and dieting. This is because after doing the same exercise routine and having the same exercise intensity month after month, the body becomes used to the exercise routine. Thus, you may experience not losing weight.
But when you hit a weight loss plateau, that doesn’t mean that you have to give up. Here are some things to keep in mind, and will help you get past it:

Be honest. Have you been cheating on your efforts? Or, you may have not been cheating on purpose but soemtimes, if you don;t monitor your habits closely, you can fall back on them without even thinking about them twice. Some people who eat to reward themselves may snack on
Are You Eating Too Much?
Try to check how you eat the next time by tracking it down in a food diary for at least three days. Write down everything that you eat. Take a look at your portion sizes. If you see a certain pattern then, you should redouble your efforts. Be a little more stringent on your self – monitoring efforts and take a look at areas that need to be monitored. If you have no problems with the way you eat, then maybe you should try these other things that may help you get past your weight loss plateau.
Are You Eating Too Little?
You may not notice it, but by following a very strict diet, you may also not provide enough calories for your body. When you do not get enough calories, your body will put itself in “starvation more”. When the body is led to believe that it is “starving”, it will try to conserve body weight. This may cause a weight loss plateau. If you think that you aren’t getting enough calories, try adding some by eating more healthy foods or by adding more to your portions. Eat like this for a couple of days and check your progress.
Up Your Exercise
This is one of the simplest things that you can do. One reason as to why you may be experiencing a weight loss plateau is that your body may have become adapted to your exercise routine. If you keep doing the same thing for months and months, your body will become adapted to the routine and will not change anymore. To overcome weight loss plateaus, you should keep your exercise routine varied by changing or upping your intensity every four weeks.
Weight loss plateaus will occur and will happen to just about anyone on the process of losing weight and exercising. With the right knowledge, you can overcome weight loss plateaus and be well on your way to getting the weight and body that you want.
