Losing weight with Robodog
Researchers from the united States have developed a robodog that helps his master loose weight.
In combination with a scale, an odometer and a palmtop, the robodog should make sure that even the most tenacious heavyweights can loose weight. Apart from that, Aibo should help his master who has successfully lost weight, to keep his weight.
The abovementioned apparatuses measure the calories and this amount controls the ‘mood’ of robodog Aibo. You do have to put the information about what you eat in the computer. The diet robot is not designed for people who think it is OK to be fat, but for people who have problems evaluating their own eating behaviour.
Masters who have kept their diet, are greeted by an enthousiastic dog with a wagging tail, and the ‘losers’ can expect a more aloof dog. Of course you can choose to fool the computer, but than you are actually fooling yourself.
The diet robot is still in the experimental phase, but Cory Kidd will present the plans at the UbiComp-conference in Tokyo at 11 September.
